Clay for Kids – Seasonal Mobile Art Instructor
Do you love art and working with kids of all ages?
We are looking for a mobile art instructor to join our team to lead clay and glass fusion classes to students ages 4 – 12 and up.
Work will take place at various schools and community centers around the city.
Instructors will usually teach 2 – 3 classes per day, at one location per day. Instructors typically work 3 – 4 days per week when schools are open (October – June) and there can be some evening and weekend work available.
Clay for Kids has been teaching children the art of clay and fused glass in Alberta since 1981. We offer mobile clay & fused glass classes in schools, daycares, camps, community centers and for special events around the Calgary area. We also have a location serving Edmonton.
The Job:
Clay for Kids instructors lead groups of children in clay, pottery wheel or fused glass classes at locations around and outside of the city. You will lead groups from 6 – 30 people in creating unique art projects and then transport the projects back to our studio in SE Calgary for firing!
Our classes are exciting and highly anticipated events for our customers, our instructors are energetic and organized so each class is a successful fun event for its participants.
We are mobile and bring the art class to our customers’ locations. Our instructors are supplied with all the materials and support they need to lead fun and educational classes/ events for kids and adults. Instructors must be self-motivated, well organized, creative and patient with learners of all ages and abilities.
Must have own vehicle and be able to do physically demanding work including lifting up to 20 kg (40 pounds).
Must be willing to have a criminal/vulnerable sector check
Pottery experience is an asset but not required, training will be provided. The most important qualities we are looking for are organization, a positive fun attitude, creativity, a willingness to learn new skills and a love of working with children.
